Continuing Education Credits

All participants who satisfy the course completion requirements will receive a continuing education certificate showing course contact hours. Please check with your state or national licensing boards to verify continuing education requirements prior to course purchase. Certificates are issued for 20 hours of continuing education (2.0 CEUs) upon completion of the AEIOU course (10 hours live/synchronous, and 10 hours on-demand). This course is an accepted activity for ASHA’s professional development hour requirements. ASHA pre-approval is not required (https://www.asha.org/certification/FactDef/). This course is eligible for AOTA credits. Participants may download and print a course brochure to keep with your certificate, to show the hour-by-hour agenda, learning outcomes, and additional details for the course.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

  • Participants can cancel their registration (in writing via email to nina@foodsmartkids.com) up to 3 weeks before the date of the course and registration fee can be refunded (minus a cancellation fee of $75).

  • Participants who cancel within 3 weeks of the course date, or no-shows, will NOT receive a refund.  For online courses, once course materials are made available to participants, no refund can be issued, and course registration can NOT be transferred.

  • Registration for live in-person courses can be transferred to another participant, or applied to a future course date (for courses hosted by Food Smart Kids), with minimum 14 day advance notice in writing to:  Nina Ayd Johanson via email to nina@foodsmartkids.com

  • In the event of low registration, emergency, or other unforeseen circumstances, the instructor may cancel the course.  Registration fee will then be refunded within 30 days.  Note that we are NOT responsible for airfare, travel, or other non-registration related costs.

  • Chargeback disputes are a serious allegation of fraud.  If a customer, after completing the registration and payment process for a course or product through Food Smart Kids, LLC, places a chargeback request with their bank or credit card company (requesting a reversal of charges directly with their bank or credit card company) whether intentional or by mistake (for example failing to recognize the charge on their statement), Food Smart Kids, LLC reserves the right to block the customer’s access to the course/product, the course platform and/or deny attendance or participation in the course while the chargeback is under investigation.  Any fees associated with a chargeback, in addition to an administrative fee for the research and compliance process will be deducted from a refund, if issued, in addition to the standard $75 administrative fee deducted from refunds.  Refunds for legitimate reasons are only considered for requests that are more than 3 weeks before the start date of a course, when requested in writing via email to Nina Johanson at nina@foodsmartkids.com.  Except in the case where a chargeback is found to be valid, no refunds will be issued for requests that are made within 3 weeks before the start date of the course, as refunds are not permitted less than 3 weeks from a course start date. The chargeback dispute resolution time is out of the control of Food Smart Kids, LLC and often take 30-90 days to resolve.
